Quiet
Light snow fell gently and quietly all day today. I love days like today. The earth is winding down for winter's sleep. I've written about my feelings on winter before, and I am continually surprised at how much they have changed since we've moved here.
I truly despised winter when we lived farther south. But it's different here.
Quiet, still, peaceful.
Winter brings out a beauty that all the other seasons just can't hold a candle to.
I am so looking forward to snowy days and nights, the woods blanketed in a shimmering silence.

Peace
The holiday weekend is over, and Maple Lake is quiet once again. Clouds have moved in, and I don't mind. We need some rain. It will be a peaceful, calm day....with no fireworks.
A chaotic lake, and loud cottagers make me appreciate days like this so much. I like it when everyone goes home. Somewhere inside of me, there is a grumpy old man shaking his fist. I'm okay with that.
